Altice Portugal, the company that bears the MEO logo continues to share its approach and support the Portuguese. It did so in Guarda and Meda where it signed a new policy that provides an increase in fiber optic coverage.
Joao Teixeira (Chief Technology Officer at Altice Portugal) took the initiative to give Meda access to the most recent fiber optic technology by December 31, and to 50% of Meda’s residents.
ALTICE PORTUGAL WILL STRENGTHEN FIBER OPTIC & MOBILE NETWORK AT MEDA.
Two new base stations will be installed to strengthen the infrastructure of all the mobile networks. A pair of infrastructures has been in operation in Longroiva since February, one each in Coriscada Parish, Outeiro de Gatos, Fonte Longa and Coriscada Parish.
The recent redevelopment has resulted in a 98% increase in population coverage. Joao Teixeira believes that this investment in infrastructure (fixed and mobile) makes Beira a top-notch destination. This is an important and difficult step for both the residents and visitors.
Joao Mourato (Mayor of Meda) states that this protocol is crucial for the development of the Municipality. This position has been held by this executive since its inception. He would prioritise investments in new-generation communications networks.
Today, there are more than 6 million Portuguese homes and businesses that benefit from optical fibers from Altice. This is the United States’ largest fiber optic network. Portugal has made a new investment to support several strategic axes, including Quality, Proximity, and Investment.
