According to Pegg, Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg may reunite soon. The Cornetto Trilogy – Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz – was Wright’s directorial debut, while Pegg starred. They also co-wrote all three screenplays.
“With Edgar, I, we need to get our schedules in line so that we can again write together,” Pegg stated ComicBook.com (opens in new tab).. We’re discussing stuff, ideas have been thrown around and we’re looking for something. He’s obviously very busy and I’m extremely busy. This is not the same as in the past, when we just wanted to be seen and had plenty of time. Things are more complicated now. However, I still have room in my heart to do all that stuff. I want to work again with Edgar [Frost] and Nick [Frost] because they are my friends and it means we can hang out more.
They have certainly been busy over the years. Pegg wrote and starred in Truth Seekers, a Prime Video horror comedy series with Nick Frost. Pegg is also a star in Mission: Impossible and played a part in The Boys season 1.
Wright also released two movies in 2021: the horror film Last night in Soho, and the documentary The Sparks Brothers on Ron and Russell Mael from the music duo Sparks.
Pegg will next be seen in Mission: Impossible 7. It is scheduled for release July 14, 2023. To get more excitement about the year ahead, you can check out our list of upcoming movies.
