A certain Star Wars canon controversy is likely to have been on your mind for several weeks if you are a fan of the wider Star Wars media. Obi Wan Kenobi episode 5 has cleared up any doubts and confirmed the fate a certain character.

Spoilers: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Wars: Rebels.

The Grand Inquisitor was not meant to die. This is not the way it should be. But Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi hunter Rupert Friend was killed by Reva in Obi-Wan Kenobi’s second episode. This was quite a scene, especially considering that he was supposed to survive until Star Wars: Rebels which will take place several years after the events in the Disney Plus series.

Writer Joby Harold loved and decided to wait and see . The dead speak! The Grand Inquisitor appeared to be alive and well at Vader’s side in the latest episode. Even taking the time to rub salt into the wounds of Reva, his replacement, he pulled the pin from the grave of the Grand Inquisitor.

How did he survive? He said, “Revenge does wonders to the will to live.” He’s probably also a Bacta Tank, but the most important thing is that he’s still breathing.

Star Wars fans are naturally thrilled by the news. One wrote (opens in new window) “GRAND INQUISITOR is BACK. REBELS FANS WHAT WE WON TODAY. We WON” and another advocated patience in dealing with the twisting and turning of the story, adding(opens new tab). “This is yet again why you have to have patience and wait until the end before complaining.
