Epic Games Store will give away more free games in 2022. It revealed that it gave out 765 million games free last year.
This news is based on Epic’s 2021 Year in Review of the Epic Games Store. You can see it through the tweet below. Epic also confirms it will continue the weekly Free Games program that was launched in 2021 and will give away new games every week throughout 2022.
The Epic Games Store also revealed that 2021 was an incredible year. Epic Games Store customers spent $840 million on the storefront during the year. More than $300 million of that money was spent in Epic Games Store on third-party gaming products.
Over the course 2021, the store gave away 89 games free of charge. With 765 million copies claimed, based upon US prices, that would mean the average player received approximately $2,120 worth of free games.
It is also fascinating to see the Epic Games Store’s biggest games in 2021. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is the winner, followed by Hitman 3 and GTA 5. Far Cry 6 follows, as well as Chivalry 2 and Darkest Dungeon 2. Fortnite, Kena, Bridge of Spirits, Rocket League, then Genshin Impact.
