Ahead of Twisted Metal’s expected game reboot its TV show has finished filming

Season one of the Twisted Metal TV series has wrapped filming.

The show that will feature Will Arnett, Anthony Mackie, and Samoa Joe appears to be complete according to the show’s director Michael Jonathan Smith.

The tweet also featured an ice sculpture, possibly at a wrap party with the traditional Twisted Metal brand logo.

The event is scheduled to premiere prior to an anticipated Twisted Metal video game reboot that VGC exclusively revealed earlier in the year was currently in development in Sony’s Firesprite studio following its move away from the original creator Lucid Games, according to sources.

Joining Anthony Mackie (Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) in the TV series is Will Arnett (Arrested Development), Samoa Joe (AEW), Thomas Haden Church (Sandman in Spider-Man 3), Stephanie Beatriz (Rosa Diaz in Brooklyn Nine-Nine), and Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott in Scream).

The show was produced and written by executive producer Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai) It has actor Mackie in the role of John Doe, an amnesiac who “talks as fast as he drives” according to a statement released by Peacock.

Doe is required to travel across a post-apocalyptic wilderness in order to transport items to an outpost. She will be assisted by car burglar Quiet (Beatriz) and is being chased by patrolman agent Stone (Church).

Peacock announced in February it had commissioned in February the PlayStation Productions show and granted it a series contract.

Twisted Metal is the second TV series from PlayStation Productions, a studio formed by Sony Interactive Entertainment to adapt its original game properties for film and TV.

It was also revealed earlier this week that The Umbrella Academy showrunner Steve Blackman is working on Netflix’s Horizon TV show, based on the PlayStation franchise.

The premiere TV show is HBO’s The Last of Us, which will be starring Game of Thrones actors Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie. The first video of the series was shown in a compilation of forthcoming HBO shows.
